디모데라 하는 제자가 있으니 그 어머니는 믿는 유대 여자요 아버지는 헬라인이라 1 [Timothy Joins Paul and Silas] Paul came to Derbe and then to Lystra,
where a disciple named Timothy lived, whose mother was Jewish and a believer
but whose father was a Greek. 2 디모데는 루스드라와 이고니온에 있는
형제들에게 칭찬 받는 자니 2 The believers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him. 3 바울이 그를 데리고 떠나고자 할새 그
지역에 있는 유대인으로 말미암아 그를 데려다가 할례를 행하니 이는 그 사람들이 그의 아버지는 헬라인인 줄 다 앎이러라 3 Paul wanted to take him along on the journey, so he circumcised him
because of the Jews who lived in that area, for they all knew that his father
was a Greek. 4 여러 성으로 다녀 갈 때에 예루살렘에
있는 사도와 장로들이 작정한 규례를 그들에게 주어 지키게 하니 4 As they traveled from town to town, they delivered the decisions
reached by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey. 5 이에 여러 교회가 믿음이 더 굳건해지고
수가 날마다 늘어가니라 5 So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in
numbers.
